SDM PROTOCOLS: MEMBER

The Member Protocol establishes the expectations, boundaries, responsibilities, and conduct standards for every individual who is part of the SDM Family. It provides clarity on how one participates, grows, and aligns with the spiritual DNA and culture of Sunshine Destiny Ministries (SDM).

1. Definition of a Member

A Member is an individual who is relationally connected to SDM and participates consistently in SDM’s fellowships, trainings, events, and discipleship engagements. A Member is not required to carry official roles but is considered part of the SDM Family for spiritual support, growth, and community.

A Member is someone who:

  • Identifies with SDM’s doctrine, vision, and spiritual DNA
  • Participates in SDM’s community life
  • Receives pastoral care, teaching, and guidance
  • Demonstrates teachability and commitment to spiritual growth

2. Purpose of the Member Protocol

The Member protocol exists to:

  • Establish clarity of expectations for all participants in SDM
  • Foster honour, unity, and spiritual maturity
  • Protect the integrity of the ministry environment
  • Ensure alignment with SDM’s culture and standards
  • Prepare individuals for possible progression to Worker or Leader tiers

3. Member Responsibilities

3.1 Participation & Engagement

Members are expected to:

  • Attend SDM fellowships, services, online gatherings, trainings, and events when possible
  • Engage respectfully in discussions, ministry platforms, and community interactions
  • Support the spiritual environment through prayer, unity, and honour

3.2 Personal Spiritual Growth

Members commit to:

  • Maintain a consistent devotional life (prayer, Word, worship)
  • Pursue spiritual maturity and character development
  • Receive correction and mentoring with a teachable spirit
  • Grow in understanding of SDM doctrine and values

3.3 Conduct & Behaviour

Members must uphold:

  • Honour toward leadership and fellow believers
  • Respect for SDM’s order, instructions, and environment
  • Integrity in speech, behaviour, and decision-making
  • Confidentiality when exposed to sensitive information
  • A culture of unity, avoiding gossip, division, or dishonour

3.4 Representation

Members represent SDM through:

  • Their personal testimony and conduct
  • Their words and behaviour in social settings and online
  • Their willingness to be agents of peace, encouragement, and blessing

Members do not represent SDM officially unless specifically authorised.

4. Member Boundaries

To safeguard the ministry environment, Members are not permitted to:

  • Lead ministries independently
  • Make organisational or doctrinal decisions
  • Conduct counselling on behalf of SDM (unless authorised)
  • Collect or manage ministry finances
  • Appoint workers or leaders
  • Introduce teachings or instructions contrary to SDM doctrine
  • Use SDM’s name for independent projects, events, or engagements

Members participate and grow, but do not operate within decision-making or leadership authority.

5. Expectations of Alignment

5.1 Alignment with SDM Spiritual DNA

Members must align with SDM core values:

  • Honour
  • Obedience
  • Excellence
  • Humility
  • Accountability
  • Discipline
  • Unity in the Spirit

5.2 Respect for Structure & Protocol

Members acknowledge:

  • The spiritual covering and leadership flow within SDM
  • The necessity of order and structure in ministry
  • The leadership chain as established by SDM

5.3 Compliance with Instructions

Members willingly follow:

  • Instructions given by recognised Leaders
  • Guidelines for participation in groups, fellowships, or activities
  • SDM communication protocols (e.g., WhatsApp groups, reporting lines, event guidelines)

6. Rights & Care Given to Members

Members can expect:

  • Pastoral care and spiritual support
  • Access to training, teachings, and ministry resources
  • Opportunities for mentoring and growth
  • A safe and honour-based environment
  • Clarity on ministry direction and updates
  • Guidance for personal calling and spiritual development

7. Progression Beyond Member Tier

A Member may transition into the Worker Tier when:

  • Faithfulness and consistency are proven
  • Character aligns with SDM standards
  • A leader recognises readiness to serve
  • There is a department or ministry need

A Member may eventually be developed into a Leader with further maturity, training, and affirmation from SDM leadership.

8. Non-Compliance Protocol

If a Member’s behaviour jeopardises SDM’s unity, honour culture, or spiritual atmosphere, SDM reserves the right to:

  • Issue correction
  • Place temporary restrictions on involvement
  • Remove the person from certain groups or activities
  • In severe cases, suspend or remove membership connection
  • All actions are taken with mercy, truth, and restoration in mind.

9. Summary of SDM Member Protocol

A Member in SDM:

  • Participates
  • Grows
  • Serves with a willing spirit (when assigned)
  • Upholds honour and unity
  • Respects leadership and order
  • Embodies SDM values
  • Functions within defined boundaries

This protocol ensures that every Member thrives within a healthy, orderly, spiritually aligned ministry environment.
