SDM MEMBERSHIP

1. Purpose and Spirit of SDM Membership

SDM Membership exists to establish a spiritually aligned, mission-driven, and accountable community within Sunshine Destiny Ministries (SDM). According to the SDM Bye-Laws, membership is not merely an enrolment but an intentional covenantal relationship where individuals commit to:

Uphold the spiritual DNA of SDM.

Participate in the fulfillment of the Heavenly Mandate entrusted to SDM.

Walk under a unified leadership structure and shared apostolic covering.

Grow in spiritual maturity, character, and ministry competency.

Engage in SDM’s transformative work across nations.

SDM Membership provides identity, belonging, structure, and spiritual alignment for all who join the SDM ecosystem.

2. Positioning of SDM Membership Within the SDM Framework

Membership functions as the entry point into the broader SDM ecosystem, granting access to:

  • SDM’s ministry pathways
  • SDM’s leadership pipeline
  • SDM’s home-based fellowships and global communities
  • SDM’s trainings, commissions, and development tracks
  • SDM’s pastoral and apostolic covering (where applicable)
  • SDM’s operational structures and protocols

Membership is the foundation upon which all ministry engagement in SDM is built.

3. Eligibility Requirements for Membership

Under the SDM Bye-Laws, a person must fulfill the following criteria:

3.1 Spiritual Eligibility

  • Confess Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour.
  • Demonstrate a basic commitment to Christian discipleship.
  • Show willingness to grow under biblical teaching and spiritual authority.

3.2 Doctrinal Alignment

  • Agree with the SDM Doctrinal Values.
  • Affirm SDM’s theological boundaries and ministry philosophies.
  • Uphold SDM’s culture of honour, excellence, and spiritual integrity.

3.3 Alignment and Participation

  • Participate in SDM Home-Based Fellowships or community groups.
  • Involve oneself in SDM activities, programs, or ministry initiatives.
  • Respect leadership delegation and spiritual order.

3.4 Administrative Commitment

  • Provide required personal information for membership records.
  • Undertake the Annual Member Contribution of RM24 as a sign of accountability and alignment (not a fee).

4. Membership Commitments and Responsibilities

SDM Membership carries spiritual, relational, and operational commitments.

4.1 Spiritual Commitment

Members commit to:

  • Personal devotion, prayer, and Christian conduct.
  • Growing in the Word of God and aligning with SDM’s spiritual guidance.
  • Maintaining integrity in character, relationships, and Christian witness.

4.2 Relational Commitment

Members commit to:

  • Walking in unity, honour, and non-contentious behaviour.
  • Protecting the reputation, vision, and mission of SDM.
  • Upholding confidentiality and mutual respect within the fellowship.

4.3 Ministry Commitment

Members commit to:

  • Serving according to their gifting and stage of development.
  • Maintaining reliability, punctuality, and responsibility in their ministries.
  • Respecting boundaries of ministry authority and leadership order.

4.4 Financial Commitment

Members commit to:

  • Keeping to the Annual Member Contribution (RM24).
  • Supporting ministry initiatives as led by the Holy Spirit and within personal means.
  • Practicing biblical stewardship.

Cessation applies if the Annual Member Contribution is not maintained, unless an exemption is formally granted.

5. Membership Privileges

Membership provides access to spiritual, relational, and developmental benefits:

5.1 Spiritual Benefits

  • Spiritual alignment and pastoral guidance under SDM leadership.
  • Access to prayer covering, ministerial counsel, and spiritual direction.

5.2 Community Benefits

  • Belonging to an organised spiritual family.
  • Access to SDM Home-Based Fellowships and community events.
  • Participation in SDM Family Groups and global network activities.

5.3 Capacity-Building Benefits

  • Eligibility for SDM courses, trainings, development tracks, and teaching programs.
  • Priority access to SDM discipleship initiatives and conferences.
  • Opportunities for ministry placement and mentoring.

5.4 Ministry Privileges

  • Ability to engage in SDM-recognised ministry roles according to tier (Member, Worker, Leader).
  • Eligibility for commissioning, licensing, or credentials (where applicable).
  • Recognition and affirmation of ministry roles through SDM’s authority structure.

5.5 Administrative Benefits

  • Issuance of SDM Member Card.
  • Access to SDM resources, documentation, and structured governance.
  • A formal “Statement of Member Privileges” can be expanded if required.

6. Tiers within SDM Membership

SDM’s Bye-Laws define internal tiers to ensure clarity, accountability, and developmental progression.

6.1 Member

Entry tier.

Focus: discipleship, alignment, growth, and fellowship engagement.

Responsibilities: attendance, contribution, and foundational protocol adherence.

6.2 Worker

  • Approved for ministry participation.
  • Serves in teams under supervision.
  • Expected to demonstrate consistency, reliability, and teachability.
  • May be involved in specialised SDM programs.

6.3 Leader

  • Recognised for leadership capability and spiritual maturity.
  • Leads teams, groups, or ministry functions.
  • Responsible for shepherding, administration, and upholding SDM protocols.
  • Must attend leadership meetings and training.

Leadership appointment follows SDM Protocols on leadership structure, responsibility, and authority.

7. Membership Cessation and Disciplinary Governance

According to Bye-Laws, membership may cease through:

7.1 Automatic Cessation

  • Non-fulfilment of Annual Member Contribution.
  • Inactivity or disengagement beyond prescribed limits.

7.2 Voluntary Withdrawal

  • Written or verbal notice given to SDM leadership.
  • Completion of necessary administrative steps.

7.3 Disciplinary Measures

SDM may suspend or terminate membership for:

  • Doctrinal deviation.
  • Wilful misconduct.
  • Unethical or dishonourable behaviour.
  • Disruptive actions that threaten SDM unity or integrity.
  • Persistent disregard for SDM protocols, standards, or leadership.

Discipline is administered with fairness, grace, and clarity, following SDM’s Protocols for conduct and reconciliation.

8. Governance, Oversight, and Accountability

8.1 Spiritual Oversight

SDM functions under established apostolic governance and spiritual oversight structures.

8.2 Administrative Governance

Membership is recorded, monitored, and managed according to SDM Bye-Laws.

8.3 Leadership Accountability

Members are accountable to leaders appointed by SDM, and leaders are accountable to higher tiers in the SDM leadership framework.

8.4 Alignment with SDM’s Mandate

All members must uphold the:

  • Vision
  • Mission
  • Mandate
  • Doctrinal values
  • Protocols
  • Operational standards

as the ministry expands globally and establishes various ministry expressions.

9. Desired Outcomes of SDM Membership

SDM Membership aims to produce:

  • Spiritually grounded believers
  • Prophetic leaders
  • Faithful stewards
  • Competent workers
  • Honourable representatives of Christ
  • Aligned partners in SDM’s global mandate

Membership is therefore not passive participation but an active journey of spiritual formation, development, accountability, and mission partnership.
