SDM MEMBERSHIP GUIDE

SUNSHINE DESTINY MINISTRIES (SDM)

Comprehensive Membership Definition, Structure, and Governance

Section 1: Foundational Understanding of SDM Membership

Membership in Sunshine Destiny Ministries (SDM) is a voluntary spiritual alignment, not an institutional attachment. It exists to support, equip, and strengthen believers in their personal God-given ministries, not to absorb them into an organisational identity.

1.1 What SDM Membership IS

SDM membership is:

  • A spiritual alignment of vision and values
  • A relational commitment, not an institutional binding
  • A ministry partnership of trust, not a corporate structure
  • A platform for equipping, not a destination for control

Membership reflects a conscious choice by an individual or ministry to:

  • Walk in unity with SDM’s apostolic direction;
  • Participate in SDM’s equipping and ministry ecosystem;
  • Uphold SDM’s spiritual ethos while retaining personal freedom.

1.2 What SDM Membership IS NOT

For absolute clarity, SDM membership:

  • Is not employment, paid service, or staff appointment
  • Is not a legal partnership, franchise, or ownership stake
  • Is not church membership, church covering, or pastoral replacement
  • Is not spiritual superiority, rank, or entitlement
  • Is not lifelong obligation or irrevocable attachment

No member is owned by SDM.

No ministry is absorbed by SDM.

No calling is replaced by SDM.

Section 2: Autonomy, Freedom, and Church Relationship

2.1 Personal and Ministry Autonomy

Every SDM member:

  • Retains full authority over their own life decisions, ministry direction, finances, and commitments;
  • Maintains independent identity before God and man;
  • Is free to accept or decline SDM participation without penalty.

SDM does not dictate:

  • Where members worship
  • Who their pastors are
  • How their finances are managed
  • What ministries they pursue outside SDM

2.2 Relationship with Local Churches (Explicit Safeguard)

SDM:

  • Does not replace local church authority
  • Does not override pastoral leadership
  • Does not function as a denominational covering

Members are:

  • Encouraged to remain planted in local churches;
  • Expected to honour their pastors and church leadership;
  • Free to disengage from SDM if church obligations require it.

SDM operates as a supplementary equipping ministry, never as a competitor or substitute to the local church.

Section 3: Three-Tier Membership Structure (Fully Clarified)

The Three-Tier Membership Structure exists solely for clarity of function, appropriate responsibility, and healthy governance.

It does not reflect spiritual hierarchy or personal value.

Tier 1: SDM Associate Member

3.1 Purpose and Intent

This tier exists for relationship without pressure.

It allows individuals to:

  • Observe SDM culture;
  • Discern spiritual alignment;
  • Participate without obligation.

3.2 Participation Scope

Associate Members may:

  • Attend SDM teachings, conferences, and events;
  • Receive general communications;
  • Engage relationally with the SDM Family.

3.3 Firm Boundaries

Associate Members:

  • Are not volunteers;
  • Hold no ministry responsibility;
  • Exercise no authority;
  • Cannot represent SDM publicly or privately.

This tier protects both the individual and SDM from premature expectations.

Tier 2: SDM Active Member (Voluntary Service Member)

3.4 Nature of Commitment

Active Membership is a clear, intentional step into service, not leadership.

It represents:

  • Availability to serve;
  • Willingness to be equipped;
  • Submission to SDM operational guidelines.

3.5 Voluntary Service Clarification

All service:

  • Is unpaid;
  • Is non-contractual;
  • Can be discontinued by either party without penalty.

Active Members are servants, not office-holders.

3.6 Authority Boundaries

Active Members:

  • Serve only within assigned tasks;
  • Do not exercise spiritual oversight;
  • Do not make governance decisions;
  • Do not confer titles upon themselves or others.

Any authority exercised is:

  • Delegated;
  • Limited;
  • Reviewable;
  • Revocable.

Tier 3: SDM Commissioned Leader

3.7 Meaning of Commissioning

Commissioning is:

  • A recognition of readiness;
  • A release into responsibility;
  • A trust-based delegation.

It is not:

  • A personal promotion;
  • A lifetime entitlement;
  • A superior spiritual status.

3.8 Scope of Leadership

Commissioned Leaders may:

  • Represent SDM in approved contexts;
  • Oversee assigned ministries or initiatives;
  • Mentor others under SDM guidance.

All leadership:

  • Operates under apostolic oversight;
  • Is accountable and reviewable;
  • Exists to serve, not control.

Commissioning may be paused, withdrawn, or redefined if alignment is lost.

Section 4: Membership Contribution (Deep Clarification)

The Annual Member Contribution (RM24):

  • Is symbolic, not transactional;
  • Is spiritual, not commercial;
  • Does not purchase access, rank, or favour.

It exists to:

  • Sustain operations;
  • Support equipping initiatives;
  • Enable global ministry reach.

Non-payment does not determine spiritual standing, but persistent disregard reflects misalignment with SDM culture.

Section 5: Rights, Limitations, and Safeguards

5.1 Rights

Members have the right to:

  • Participate according to their tier;
  • Receive clarity on expectations;
  • Withdraw freely without stigma.

5.2 Explicit Limitations

Members do not have the right to:

  • Use SDM’s name independently;
  • Claim authority they were not given;
  • Build parallel ministries under SDM branding;
  • Demand recognition or progression.

Section 6: Termination as Release, Not Rejection

Termination:

  • Is administrative, not punitive;
  • Is relationally respectful;
  • Does not imply spiritual failure.

Leaving SDM is not loss, not rebellion, and not disqualification.

Members leave with their own ministries intact.

Section 7: Eligibility Exemptions (Apostolic Safeguard)

Eligibility exemptions exist to:

  • Honour divine calling over bureaucracy;
  • Respond to spiritual discernment;
  • Serve pastoral wisdom.

However:

  • Exemption is not endorsement;
  • Is not leadership recognition;
  • Is not permanent.

Final authority rests with the SDM Apostolic Oversight Board (SAOB).

Final Governing Declaration

Sunshine Destiny Ministries exists to serve the believer’s destiny, not replace it.

SDM builds people.

SDM releases people.

SDM does not own people.

Alignment is voluntary.

Service is a privilege.

Leadership is stewardship.
