Mandatory Protocols, Rules & Policies for Coupling and Decoupling in SDM

Mandatory Protocols, Rules & Policies for Coupling and Decoupling in SDM

The Coupling–Decoupling Framework in Sunshine Destiny Ministries (SDM) provides freedom of participation, but it does not remove the need for order, accountability, and ministry governance. To ensure stability, clarity, and integrity, the following mandatory protocols, rules, regulations, and policies apply to all individuals, auxiliaries, and ministry teams.

1. Coupling Protocols (Joining SDM)

1.1 Declaration of Alignment

Any person or group coupling with SDM must:

  • Affirm SDM’s core vision and values.
  • Understand the SDM ecosystem (Apostolic Oversight, Management Board, Auxiliaries, SOPs).
  • Agree to respect SDM’s ministry culture.

1.2 Submission of Basic Profile

Individuals or ministries must provide:

  • Basic contact information
  • Ministry role or capacity
  • Area of giftings

This helps SDM assign them to the correct auxiliary or ministry stream.

1.3 Compliance with SDM Policies

Coupled individuals must comply with the following existing policies:

  • SDM Ministry Conduct Policy
  • SDM Financial Integrity & Offering Policy
  • SDM Reporting & Accountability SOP
  • SDM Project Approval Procedures
  • SDM Safeguarding & Ethics Guidelines

These are non-negotiable mandatory standards.

1.4 Respect for Apostolic Oversight

Coupled individuals operate under SDM’s Apostolic Oversight Board, especially when serving in official SDM capacities.

2. Decoupling Protocols (Pausing Participation)

Decoupling is flexible, but still structured.

2.1 Notification Requirement

Although no permission is needed, individuals must inform their coordinator, auxiliary head, or SDM Administration if they intend to pause active participation.

This is for:

  • Records
  • Project planning
  • Team management

2.2 Return of SDM Assets (if any)

If the individual held:

  • SDM equipment
  • SDM funds
  • SDM documentation
  • SDM name badges or ministry kits

These must be returned before decoupling.

2.3 Financial Transparency During Decoupling

Anyone handling project finances must complete:

  • Final accounting
  • Submission of receipts
  • Closure of vouchers

No one may decouple while holding unresolved financial records.

2.4 Confidentiality Policy Still Applies

Even during decoupling, individuals remain bound by:

  • Information confidentiality
  • Ethics
  • Protection of internal documents

3. Rules Governing Participation (Whether Coupled or Decoupled)

3.1 Freedom with Accountability

Participation is flexible, but ministry duties must be carried out with accountability when a person is active.

3.2 No Misrepresentation

Decoupled individuals may not represent themselves publicly as active SDM officers, coordinators, or speakers unless reactivated.

3.3 Respect for SDM Covering

SDM provides covering, guidance, and protection.

Individuals should not misuse SDM’s name, events, or branding for personal agendas.

3.4 Ethical Behaviour is Mandatory

Coupled or decoupled, every individual must maintain:

  • Integrity
  • Christian conduct
  • Respect for SDM leadership and peers
Breaches may lead to review by the Management Board.

4. Policies That Sustain the Coupling–Decoupling Model

4.1 SDM’s Seasonal Participation Policy

SDM recognises that people serve in seasons.

Coupling does not lock anyone in.

Decoupling does not expel anyone.

4.2 Zero-Coercion Policy

No one may pressure another person to remain active when they require rest or reorientation.

4.3 Open-Reactivation Policy

Any decoupled individual may return anytime through simple notification.

No penalty, no judgment.

4.4 Ministry Safety & Compliance Policy

Even in a decoupled state, individuals must not:

  • Misuse SDM resources
  • Claim active SDM authority
  • Access restricted information

5. Mandatory Review Points

5.1 Annual Alignment Review

Each year, SDM conducts an internal review to confirm:

  • Active individuals
  • Decoupled individuals
  • Auxiliary participation
  • Leadership responsibilities

This keeps the structure clean and organised.

5.2 Project-Level Accountability

Those active in SDM projects must follow:

  • Project Approval SOP
  • Budget Submission SOP
  • Reporting SOP

These remain compulsory.

6. Summary: Freedom with Structure

The Coupling–Decoupling Model gives freedom, but SDM maintains order through mandatory protocols:

  • Coupling requires alignment and compliance
  • Decoupling requires notification and closure
  • Ethics, confidentiality, and integrity remain mandatory at all times

The SDM oversight remains respected whether active or paused

SDM is flexible, but not lawless.

It is free-flowing, but not disorderly.

It encourages movement, but protects integrity.
